Product Features
Crystal boron powder is also called monomer boron, also known as monomer boron and element boron, is gray-black or brown amorphous powder. The chemical properties are more active, tasteless and odorless.
It is stable in air and normal temperature, oxidized when heated to 300 ℃, and burns when it reaches 700 ℃. When burning, the flame is red, and the trace gasified boron flame is green.
Elemental boron is insoluble in water, hydrochloric acid, ethanol, ether, sulfuric acid, nitric acid and molten metal. It is soluble in cold concentrated alkali solution and decomposes into hydrogen, which is oxidized to boric acid by concentrated nitric acid and concentrated sulfuric acid.
At high temperature, boron can interact with oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur, halogen and carbon. Boron can also directly combine with many metals to form metal compounds, and can also react with organic compounds to form compounds in which boron is directly linked to carbon. Or compounds in which oxygen exists between boron and carbon.
Monolithic boron is in a special position in the periodic table that divides elements into metals and non-metals. It is an element with non-metallic properties. It has strong negative electricity, small atomic radius, and concentrated nuclear charge. Non-metallic properties are similar to silicon.
Its density is 2.35g/cm3. The hardness is 9.3, the specific gravity is 2.33-2.45, the melting point: 2300℃, the boiling point: 2550℃.
